Val Gardena and South Tyrol Links

Merano

Merano is located in a basin at the end of the Vinschgau valley, the Passeier valley and the Etsch valley and is the second largest city in South Tyrol.

Beside the beautiful Old Town and the many castles in the surroundings, Merano is well known for its mild climate and its thermal bath.

The surroundings of Merano are also a popular hiking area and for cyclists there is the Etsch bicylce track which leads from Landeck through the Vinschgau via Merano to Verona.
